  Worthington White Shield 500ml
  A quintessential India Pale Ale and multi award winner, this bottle-conditioned beer was brewed from the 1840's to be exported to our troops in India. To survive the 3-6 month journey by ship, it was brewed high in hops and high in alcohol. Best with bigger flavours such as mature stilton and cheddar; meat pies and grilled meats 5.6%

  St Peter's Old Style Porter 500ml
  Stouts were originally called 'stout porters', drier and more roasted versions of the porters which sprang up in the 1720's to lubricate the market porters who made London tick. Often aged for two years in massive oak vats, they were slightly vinous (sour) with background chocolate flavours. Great with sensuous foods ? oysters, smoked salmon, mutton, venison, grilled fish and steak 5.1%

  Otter Head 500ml
  This beer has a deep, luxurious, red brown colour with a well-balanced fruit and malt aroma. Otter Head has a distinct barley wine, old ale character, yet is light to drink. It has a malt, fruit and slightly sweet flavour, with a long bittersweet aftertaste. Excellent with food 5.8%

  Organic handcrafted ale which uses organic nettles handpicked in Dorset. It's slightly spicy with a light bitterness and a subtle tingle that comes from the nettles 4.5%

  Dunkerton's Organic Cider 500ml
  Sophisticated medium sweet organic cider, strong in flavour, made from 100% pure juice of English cider apples - Foxwhelp, Sheepnose, Dabinett and Bakewell Seedling. All picked close to Dunkerton's Cider Mill, Pembridge, Herefordshire 7%

  Hix Oyster Ale 500ml
  Hix's own brew. From a long-established family brewery, Palmers in Bridport, Dorset, pours a pleasing deep brown, almost black colour and throws a fine-bubbled, long-lasting thick head. Quite smooth, with hazelnuts, cocoa and caramel, the dark malty flavours display a hint of sweetness . Real emphasis on fruit and nuts, and yet not too heavy or cloying on the palate .

  A Scottish lager with zinging citrus flavours. Best with seafood, grilled fish, chicken, pork, vegetables 4.8%

  Easy drinking, soft lager from Yorkshire with delicate sweetness. Good with oysters, salads & simple fish dishes 4.5%

  Fantastic award-winning cask ale, bursting with tropical fruit and biscuity malt flavours. Naturally enhanced with a late addition of aromatic Cascade Hops leaves a dry and bittersweet finish. Very good on its own or with barbecued meats and curries 4.2%

  Sharp's Chalky's Bite 330ml
  A fascinating Cornish beer with great complexity of flavour, emulating some of the best Belgian ales. Wild Cornish fennel and wheat are added before being matured for three months. Should hit the spot with oysters and more complex foods such as mutton and well-aged meats 6.8%

  A highly versatile beer, this is aged in American oak barrels to give the beer soft, sensuous caramel flavours with a twist of lemon on the finish. Excellent with anything seared or with caramelisation ? roast suckling pig, roast grouse, devilled kidneys or chump chops 6.6%
